Stubborn President Refuses to Listen to the People

Wed, 03/10/2010 - 09:29

What will it take for stubborn politicians like our own president to start listening to the people?  We the People organized hundreds of Tea Parties around the nation last year with millions of people in attendance to tell him NO.  Then we showed up in droves at our local representatives' town hall meetings to tell them NO.  Then the American People rose up and went to the polls in elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts to tell the politicians NO.  What will it take for politicians like President Obama and Congressman Ron Kind to get a clue and realize that the American People do not want their plan for government control of the health care industry?  Sheesh!

N.O.Y.B.

Tue, 03/09/2010 - 21:02

Attached below is a link to the scanned copy of a letter I received the other day from the Census Bureau. I usually don't have a problem taking part in the census but this will be the first year that it is being conducted while reporting directly to the White House instead of to Congress. In case you weren't aware of it, President Obama took it upon himself to make sure that the Census Bureau reports to him. This is a huge mistake and I can only assume he is doing it so that he can get his "community organizer," political fingers all over the data that will come pouring in and help him launch his re-election bid.

Gov’t Fails to Fund Existing Programs While Creating New Ones

Three months ago, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Wisconsin’s state government healthcare programs such as Badgercare Plus would be facing a potential $1 billion in cuts over the next 18 months.

Last week, the State Senate passed the BadgerCare Plus Basic Plan claiming to provide an insurance program to an additional 25,000 Wisconsin residents.  This bill creates a government-run, mandate-free health plan that does not even meet the minimum standards established by the State Office of the Commissioner of Insurance for private sector insurance companies.

Respondng to Ron Kind's Liberal Friends

Sun, 03/07/2010 - 09:39

David Cook recently wrote a rebuttal to my comments and did a great job of highlighting the fundamental differences between the liberal philosohpy of Ron Kind and the conservative Dan Kapanake.  Liberals believe that the answer to every problem begins in government.  That if the government is simply allowed to siphon enough resources out of the private sector then all our problems will be solved.  Conservatives know that is just a Utopian fantasy and not reality at all.  Conservative philosophy believes that the people

Mike Huebsch writes: Global Warming Bill Means Higher Electric Bills and More Taxes

Fri, 03/05/2010 - 18:19

Once the Assembly Special Committee on Green Energy Jobs wrapped up its two public hearings on Governor Doyle’s Global Warming bill, the co-chairs conceded that some rewrites were necessary.  Yet, both co-chair Jim Soletski (D-Green Bay) and the governor have said they want to preserve the requirement that 25% of the electricity used in Wisconsin must come from renewable sources by 2025.  Based on Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) data, it will cost electric customers more than $15 billion to make that happen.  And, according to the Governor’s Global Warming Task Force, it

Is it any wonder more good people don’t run for public office?

Wed, 03/03/2010 - 08:43

Just look at the way Senator Bunning of Kentucky is treated for daring to raise objections over the reckless spending in Washington.  Ron Kind likes to brag about his support of the "PayGo" law that forces Congress to pay for things by finding cuts in other programs or increasing taxes.  The bottom line, according to Ron Kind, is that the Congress must pay for things without adding to the nation’s deficit.

On its face it makes perfect sense but what Ron Kind failed to mention to the local media and to the voters of Western Wisconsin is that he and his colleagues also built in a humongous loophole that allows them to essentially pass any spending plan they want and add it to our morbidly obese deficit.

With unemployment at record levels, several small businesses closing their doors, prices for many goods and services rising, it is amazing to me that politicians like Ron Kind continue to bribe voters with stimulus money that came out of our own pockets.
