Kind’s COS joins MVC

Suite Talk hears that Cindy Brown, longtime chief of staff to Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.), is leaving Capitol Hill for a job at Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti. She’s set to start June 22, but no word on whether she’ll continue working on health care reform, one of Kind’s top-drawer issues.

The La Crosse Tribune recently posted an opinion letter by Loren Molling, President of the United Transportation Union Local 311 in La Crosse.  In the letter defending Ron Kind he states, "He[Ron Kind] also has returned to the federal treasury almost $1.1 million from his office budget through savings and efficiencies that can only be used to reduce our national debt."

GM says bondholder offer fails; bankruptcy likely

DETROIT (AP) - A General Motors Corp. (GM) (GM) bankruptcy filing seemed inevitable after a rebellion by its bondholders forced it to withdraw on Wednesday a plan to swap bond debt for company stock.
