Just How Stupid Does Ron Kind Think We Are?
I've been watching the news stories stack up recently about how congressmen are or are not opting to pay their employees bonuses this year. There is obviously a media tour going on with these politicians so they can try to snow as many people as possible. Here is a snippet I grabbed from an Appleton news web site:
Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Milwaukee, is one who has returned millions at year's end. Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Middleton, and Rep. David Obey, D-Wausau, never reward their employees with year-end bonuses. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, who has given bonuses in the past, decided against it this year because of the recession and will probably not award them in the future, said spokeswoman Leah Hunter, explaining that Kind wants to be "a good steward of taxpayer money."
Do you see just how chivalrous and praiseworthy Ron Kind is? What a wonderful and marvelous man he is and far beyond reproach for seeking to be "a good steward of taxpayer money." Oh, what a wonderful man and worthy of the worship of his adoring fans.
If you didn't catch the heavy dose of sarcasm in that last paragraph then I apologize. Ron Kind is one of the most talented politcal animals I have ever witnessed. Like our president, he can hypnotize you with his words and lure many people away from actually watching his actions. For instance, while withholding bonuses may save taxpayers a million dollars or so, are we all just supposed to forget the fact that he voted in favor of TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS in spending? Last year when the stimulus package debates began Ron Kind admitted publicly that his constituents where telling him "no" and "hell no." No one thought the stimulus was a good idea except for the looters in D.C. and New York. Even though the vast majority of 3rd District citizens where telling him "NO" Ron Kind decided that he knew better and voted "YES."
As a proud capitalist I believe that we all should be paid fairly for our work. When we work hard we should be well rewarded. If we don't work at all... Well, we shouldn't get a dime. It sounds to me like Ron Kind is one of those cheap bosses who won't pay his employees a decent wage when they've earned it. But hey, what do I know? I'm just one of the stupid plebes outside Washington who should be prostrating myself before the wizards of smart like Ron Kind who are far more intelligent than I could ever dream to be. (note sarcasm)
Bonuses
I would be much more impressed if Ron Kind worked for the rest of the year without pay. As a taxpayer I pay his wages and I really can't afford to pay him this year. If he wants to take the year off that would be ok he doesn't take care of our business anyway. I called him maybe four or five times and told him not to vote for the stimulus package he patted me on the head and did it anyway. He is worthless and he should resign.
