Same Old Democrat Playbook: Tax & Spend

I have written about the Democrats' standard operating procedures before and now here is a real world example of just how low they are willing to go.

There are many elderly citizens in our state who rely on Lifeline services to maintain their independence while living in their homes.  This service gives them the security of knowing that emergency personnel will be called instantly when an accident occurs.  Attached is a letter that a friend's mother recently received from her Lifeline provider.

As you can see the Democrats in Madison have chosen to impose a new tax for this service.  Don't forget that they are also taxing Social Security, personal property, fuel to heat homes... Actually, I can't think of any tangible item that they DON'T tax.

This new tax is just the latest slap in the face from the government and another shackle that we must bear the burden of simply because the Democrats in power have decided we must.  Folks, I for one am sick and tired of these outrageous mandates on our lives.  These government officials produce nothing and are simply looting from those of us who do.  The government has become a common thief who has now decided to prey on our elderly citizens.

This is an example of why so many of us will be participatig in Taxday Tea Parties around the nation on April 15th.  Click here to view the details about the one that will take place in La Crosse.  Enough is enough!  Join us to send a message to our elected officials.  "We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!"

I just received this note

I just received this note from a friend in Madison:

A quick check with the Legislative Fiscal Bureau revealed that this extension of the sales tax is the result of the Streamlined Sales Tax provisions proposed by Governor Doyle and approved by Democrats in February. It was one of the $1.2 billion tax hike provisions included in the "budget adjustment bill" that was supposed to address a $593 million deficit in the current state fiscal year. To avoid shining the light on these types of indefensible tax increases, Governor Doyle and the Democrats introduced, passed and signed the bill into law in 72 hours.
