Ron Kind's propaganda about the public option in the health care bill.

I'm sure that may be the case: Very few people will choose the public option... Inititally. Eventually though the end result of this bill will be that I have no choice but to take the public option because that will ultimately end up being the only option left after the government monopoly puts private insurers out of business.  Not to mention the millions of us who will lose our employer funded coverage because it just won't make sense any more for a company to offer it.  No, I take that back... There will be other options available but they will be so expensive that only the rich elite congressmen and other wealthy people will be able to afford them.  That's how these liberal "master plans" always work out in the end: the rich get richer, the poor get poorer (but with better bennies) and the middle class gets stuck with the bill.

I predict that it will take 10 years for the government controlled plan to dominate the market through force and intimidation.  They will force us to pay for it with our taxes and they will intimidate us with propaganda.  "You don't care about the poor" they will say.  And, "You're just a selfish, government hating conservative." Oh yeah, they'll continue to say things like this too, "Why don't you just go live in another country where there is no government if you hate this country so much?"  Those tactics will lead many people to simply give in and accept the total control of our health care by the government.

Eventually we will all have no option but the public option. Government competing with the private sector is like an aligator competing with a bunny rabbit. The private sector gets devoured in the end. 

There are better ways to mend the system using free market principles.  Let this be our new mantra: mend it, don't end it.
